Alaska Structures Delivers $3.5 Million Dollar Mobile Field Hospital to Israeli Defense Forces to Increase Medical Preparedness

Alaska Structures Inc. (AKS), teaming with Israeli company Bney Meir, announced the delivery of a newly developed mobile field hospital to the Israeli Defense Forces. The contract, worth over $3.5 million US Dollars, will increase medical preparedness and capacity of the Israeli Defense Force (IDF). Bney Meir Ltd is AKS' official representative in the State of Israel. Bney Meir is an ISO-9000 certified, authorized supplier of the Israeli MoD and a certified service provider for AKS.  Bney Meir's service department provides a variety of services to various military customers under annual contracts for the last 40 years.

The contract for the Israeli Field Hospital (IFH) includes customized AKS deployable medical shelters, environmental control units, electrical systems, generators, as well as a medical oxygen concentrator system. The IFH provides surgical and intensive care facilities, as well as substantial inpatient care space, including negative pressure isolation capability. The portable hospital is compact for storage and transport, which allows the IDF to rapidly deliver a mobile hospital for provision of humanitarian care worldwide.  The IFH's life expectancy is a minimum of at least 20 years.

The IFH consists of 26 shelters of three different sizes, which can be interconnected into a single facility. The IFH can be operated in a united mode (with all shelters attached to each other), in a separate mode (with shelters not attached to each other) and in an intermediate mode (with only a portion of the IFH deployed and set up). AKS' modular hospital concept and the versatility of shelter connection allow for a wide variety of configurations to suit terrain features of a particular setup site or requirements of a particular mission.

In addition to the portable medical shelters and equipment, AKS and Bney Meir will provide training for the Israeli Defense Force on setup and operation of the IFH infrastructure. The first such training event will occur during the first two weeks of December. Following training, the IDF will be capable of deploying and setting up the facility independently. The IFH shelter system can be installed and ready to operate and receive the first patient within 12 hours.

Alaska Structures (AKS) designs, engineers and delivers the highest quality fabric building systems for extreme environments.
