Lockheed Martin Wins Role on Defense Information Systems Agency Program

The U.S. Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) selected Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) for a role on its Test and Evaluation Mission Support Services (TEMSS) program. Six other companies were also selected to compete for future TEMSS tasks, with a seventh supporting other program elements.

Lockheed Martin will begin its support through a 90-day, firm fixed price phase-in task worth $393,000.  The TEMSS program is a one-year indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract that includes four one-year options with a potential ceiling value of $800 million for all contractors. Work will take place in Fort Huachuca, Ariz.; Indian Head, Md.; and Fort Meade, Md.

The contract will support DISA's mission to provide network, computing infrastructure and enterprise services for real-time information sharing and decision making among military and civilian agencies. Lockheed Martin will pursue opportunities to deliver testing, scientific, engineering, logistic, administrative, and operations and maintenance services.

"We share in DISA's mission to ensure the right information gets to the right people precisely when it's needed," said June Shrewsbury, vice president of technical services within Lockheed Martin's Global Training and Logistics business. "Our experts in information technologies will build on our record of delivering secure systems that DISA can use with confidence."

Lockheed Martin has proven expertise in Command, Control, Communications, Computers and Intelligence (C4I); information assurance; information technology and automated information systems for individual customers and joint entities. In addition to developing the National Cyber Range with the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, Lockheed Martin operates several labs, test facilities and programs that support cyber security, information technology and information assurance. The company also formed the Cyber Security Technology Alliance, which brings together leading technology providers to collaborate on solutions for early threat detection and protection using best practices, hardware, software and tools.

Headquartered in Bethesda, Md., Lockheed Martin is a global security and aerospace company that employs about 120,000 people worldwide and is principally engaged in the research, design, development, manufacture, integration and sustainment of advanced technology systems, products and services. The corporation's net sales for 2011 were $46.5 billion.
