General Dynamics Awarded $10 Million Contract by Raytheon for Production of Tomahawk CCLS Launch Tubes

CHARLOTTE, N.C., Nov. 4, 2010

General Dynamics Armament and Technical Products has been awarded a $9.8 million contract by Raytheon Missile Systems, Tucson, Ariz., for production of the composite capsule launch system (CCLS) for the Tomahawk missile.  General Dynamics Armament and Technical Products is a business unit of General Dynamics (NYSE: GD).

The CCLS structure is used for the vertically launched, submarine-based Tomahawk missile, the U.S. Navy's premier long-range, subsonic cruise missile for land attack warfare.  Production and program management will be performed at General Dynamics' advanced materials facility in Lincoln, Neb.  Work will begin this month, with the first deliveries beginning in May 2011.  General Dynamics' Lincoln facility produces a wide variety of high-performance, filament-wound composite structures including motor cases, airframe components, launch tubes and pressure vessels for the defense and aerospace markets.  Approximately 160 people are employed at the Lincoln location.
