General Dynamics AIM II(TM) Cryptographic Module Now Certified by NSA for Use in JTRS Radios

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz., Sept. 8 2010

The AIM II programmable cryptographic module by General Dynamics C4 Systems was recently certified by the National Security Agency (NSA) to secure classified information up to and including Top Secret, Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) for the Joint Tactical Radio System (JTRS) Handheld, Manpack and Small Form Fit (HMS) and Airborne Maritime Fixed (AMF) radios. The AIM II module is an integral component of the JTRS Manpack radio (AN/PRC 155), as well as other HMS small form factor radios that will be furnished by the government for integration into dismounted soldier systems and fixed-wing aircraft.

The AIM II module comprises a secure hardware foundation with embedded software-based cryptographic algorithms to protect classified information from use by unauthorized personnel. The new module is also interoperable with today's military and government communications equipment and encryption devices.
