Senior Air Force Officials to Give Feedback From Theatres Including Afghanistan, Latin America and North Africa at the 3rd Annual Airpower in Irregular Warfare Gathering

Air Force personnel from over 10 nations including the US, Brazil, Nigeria, Italy, Jordan, France and Turkey will gather at the 3rd Annual Airpower in Irregular Warfare (27 - 29 November, London).

Airpower in Irregular Warfare will provide coverage of the latest doctrinal developments and also evaluate the wide array of platforms and systems that can be utilised in counter insurgency operations (http://www.airpowerinirregularwarfare.com; 27 - 29 November, 2012, London).

Attendees at Airpower in Irregular Warfare will hear multinational feedback from a variety of theatres, including Afghanistan, Latin America and North Africa from leading Air Force officials as they look to asses the proposed upgrades and medications required by the Air Forces to better equip current platforms and enable them to operate successfully against irregular forces (http://www.airpowerinirregularwarfare.com).

  • Deterring asymmetric threats through the use of a cost effective air force: led by Captain Bahadir Yilmaz and Captain Ali Gulmus from the Turkish Air Force
  • Airborne coin with indigenous forces: US in partnership with the Afghan Air Force: led by David Torress-Laboy, Head of Project Integration, Combat Command from the US Air Force
  • Joint mission planning considerations for asymmetric operations: led by Colonel Paolo Ricco, Head of Current Operations - General Staff from the Italian Army
